"After our experience last week at
Richloam with hydro-locking the Cherokee, we played it safe and did some U-turns
on the aggressive trails. As a result we didn't get pics of some of the deeper
stuff the others folks went through. With not having any rain for the past 3
weeks, trails are getting a little dryed out, but you can still find some deep
water and mud which they found today. Took some more video, will try to get that
edited along with the last 2 weeks videos and post somewhere.
A few casualities today:
FIRST - A stock Ford Explorer 4x4 hydro-locked on the first major water hole and
had to be towed out to Center Grade. After Bobby & I turned away from a deep
hole further down the trail, we met the Explorer guys on Center Grade and towed
them out to the campground where a AAA tow truck picked them up. (AAA = well
worth the membership)
SECOND - an F150 lost its rear wheel drive and had to drive out with only front
wheel drive.
JayDee used his Welder on the trail to fix a shifter that had broke.
Met alot of nice folks (and pets) today. Had a great time. Thanks to Off-Road
Pirates for putting this ride together and for welcoming others to their ride.
Looking forward to future rides."
